Simone Beckwith handles most of our senior and downsizing moves personally, doing the walkthrough herself rather than sending an estimator who’s never met the family. She’s found that a slower, in-home conversation ahead of time — going room by room instead of rushing the whole house in twenty minutes — heads off a lot of the last-minute stress that shows up when nobody’s talked through what’s actually moving until the truck is already outside.

On moving day itself, our crew works at whatever pace the family needs, whether that’s a straightforward move into a Laurel retirement community or a longer trip out to a facility in Hattiesburg. And when something hasn’t been decided on — furniture nobody’s ready to give away, boxes a family wants to go through later without pressure — it goes into our own climate-controlled warehouse instead of forcing a decision on moving day just to get it out of the house.

Adult children coordinating a parent’s move from out of town are as common on these jobs as the person actually moving, and Simone works directly with whoever’s managing the logistics — over the phone, by email, whatever’s easiest for a family that isn’t all in one place. On moving day, keepsakes and anything with more sentimental than practical value get flagged and handled individually rather than boxed in with everything else, so a photo album or a jewelry box isn’t buried at the bottom of a box marked misc. We also work around medical appointments and family visit schedules rather than locking in a single moving date months out and hoping nothing changes before then.
