About Us
Founded on one idea: storage should never mean handing your things to a stranger.
Get my free estimateHarper Transfer & Storage started in 2015 because Cole Reddick got tired of watching Pine Belt families get burned by a promise that sounded better than it was. Before Harper existed, Cole spent eleven years managing inventory and dock operations at a furniture distribution warehouse outside Hattiesburg — the kind of job where a mislabeled pallet could disappear into a rented storage bay for weeks before anyone noticed it was gone. He saw the same pattern play out with local movers: a company would quote a customer “storage included,” then quietly sublet a unit at a self-storage lot across town, with no one really accountable if something went missing between drop-off and pickup.
Building the Warehouse Instead of Renting One
Cole’s fix was straightforward — if storage was going to be part of the job, Harper would own the building it happened in. That’s why every item we store sits inside our own climate-controlled warehouse at 2204 Ellisville Blvd, tagged and logged by our own crew, instead of getting handed off to a company we don’t control. More than a decade later, Cole still walks the warehouse floor most Saturday mornings checking inventory tags himself, and he can usually tell you within a pallet or two how full the bay is in any given week. Since opening, Harper has completed more than 3,172 moves and put over 610,000 miles on our trucks across Jones County, the Pine Belt, and the routes beyond it.
The Crew Behind Every Move
Trent Okafor has handled dispatch and route coordination since 2018, which in the Pine Belt means more than just mapping the fastest road. Trent routes crews around US-11 and I-59 traffic — including the pulpwood trucks that roll out of the local mills — and keeps warehouse pickups and drop-offs scheduled tight enough that nothing stored with us ever sits overnight on the loading dock.
Simone Beckwith has been our move coordinator and estimator since 2019. She walks every household through their in-home or video estimate personally, and when a move includes storage, she’s the one who tags and logs each item going into the warehouse, so you know exactly what’s in there and where — no guessing, no vague inventory sheet.
Boyd Lassiter has led the same crew as foreman since 2016, ten years now — and personally signs off on anything that goes into or comes out of the Ellisville Blvd warehouse. Nadia Fitch joined in 2017 and helped design the warehouse shelving system herself; she trains every new hire on how fragile items actually get logged and shelved, not just stacked and hoped for. And Reuben Castellano, our long-distance driver since 2019, drives the Hattiesburg, Meridian, and Gulf Coast runs himself, coordinating directly with the warehouse whenever a long-haul move needs a storage gap on either end. Between the five of them, there’s more than three decades of combined experience keeping Harper’s trucks and warehouse running the way Cole set them up to run.
Together, this crew handles everything from local and long-distance moves to full and partial packing, commercial relocations, furniture assembly, piano moves, senior and retirement-community moves, and last-minute jobs when a date changes fast — all backed by the same warehouse and the same trucks, across Laurel, Jones County, and the wider Pine Belt. If you’d like to talk through a move, call us at (601) 552-9034.
What sets Harper Transfer & Storage apart
The people who answer your first call are the same people lifting the last box off the truck — same faces, same truck, no handoff in between.
No Mid-Job Crew Swaps
Boyd’s four-person team rides the truck from your old address to your new one. Whoever loads the sofa is still there to set it down — we don’t pull people off your job to patch a gap on somebody else’s.
Payroll Crew, Not Rented Labor
Every name on the truck is on our own payroll and answers to Boyd, who’s led this same four-person team for ten years. Nobody gets pulled in for a day through a gig app.
A Registered Mississippi Carrier
We keep our Mississippi household-goods carrier registration current and insurance on every load. Need proof for a Jones County property manager or HOA? A certificate goes out same-day.
Trent Maps The Route Before We Load
New-construction streets past Sandersville that GPS hasn’t caught up with yet, a gate check-in in Bay Springs, log trucks backing up US-11 — Trent has the route worked out before the truck leaves the yard.
You Get Cole, Not A Call Center
Dial the Ellisville Blvd number and Cole, Simone, or one of the office crew picks up — not a script somewhere out of state. The arrival window we give you holds, and moving your date costs nothing.

Nothing Travels Uncovered
Nadia trains the crew to blanket and shrink-wrap dressers and cushions right where they stand in the room — not out in the hallway on the way to the truck.
We Protect The House, Not Just The Furniture
Corner guards and floor runners go down at both ends before the first box moves. That’s how neither your old place nor the new one ends up with a scuffed wall.
We Take It Apart, We Put It Back Together
Bed frames, dining tables, cribs — the crew disassembles what needs it for the ride and reassembles everything at the new address. No leftover screws in a bag on your counter.
A Box Just For The Fragile Stuff
TVs, mirrors, and artwork get their own carton with real corner padding, not a spot wedged behind a couch cushion because it was the only room left.
Ramps And Straps, Not Bare Backs
Anything heavy rides on a dolly with a real tie-down strap holding it, so nothing gets dragged across a floor or hauled up a staircase by muscle alone.
No Handoff At Lunch
There’s no relief shift and no fresh face showing up after noon. The crew that loaded your first box is still there for the last one, same day, same faces.

Cheapest and most efficient movers around!
Great choice for your relocation needs!
Three steps. One crew the whole way.
Give Us The Basics
Both ZIP codes and a ballpark room count is enough for Simone to send a written number back the same day — no in-person walkthrough required just to get a figure.
A Named Crew Goes On The Calendar
Lock in a date and Boyd’s specific four-person crew and truck are booked under your name, not a general slot. If your building needs a certificate of insurance first, we get it sent before move day.
They Load It, They Unload It
Your crew arrives in the window we promised, pads and wraps whatever needs it, and drives the truck themselves to wherever it’s going — no different faces waiting at the other end.
Ready to put your move on the schedule?
Whoever picks up when you call is on the truck in your driveway on move day — we don’t hand your job to a different crew or a subcontractor partway through. Give us your details and expect a number back the same day.
